Baz Najdan

It is with great sadness that we have to announce the death of Baz Najdan.

Baz joined WBCFC in its early years as one the Clubs founding members. He initially took on the role of Club Social Sec before taking on the Chairman’s role in the late nineties, a role which he held until he retired from the post a couple of years ago. As Chairman, Baz was always keen to see the Club grow and develop throughout all age groups, across both boys and girls teams. In his later years of tenure, he was keen to develop the Men’s and Ladies team section and was instrumental in bringing in specialist trainers and coaches in support of developing adult squads. Much of the subsequent men’s teams success in recent years was down to Baz’s vision to encourage all age groups to prosper within the Club so that players could have a natural route through to playing in senior teams in later years.
In his Chairman’s role, Baz was also instrumental in working with RBC to develop and plan Regatta Way as a self standing home for WBCFC when the previous Coronation ground site was sold. He spent many hours representing WBC, and also as a Sports and Social club member, to ensure that RBC provided the Regatta Way facility that was fit for purpose for WBC football teams.
Over the years, Baz was always on hand to listen and advise on all Club and team related matters, to all parents, Managers and Committee members. He was known to many in the local football community, and those of us who have worked with Baz in the club knew that from his experience he would provide unbiased advice on all matters relating to Managing and Coaching our teams in WBCFC.

The club offers its condolences to Baz’s family and friends at this difficult time.
