About Us

West Bridgford Colts, founded in 1990, now has over 70 teams, ranging from training groups for youngsters through to the veteran’s and men’s teams; and including a thriving girls and ladies’ section. We have around 1300 registered players, hundreds of parental volunteers, and are one of the biggest community clubs in Europe.

The club moved into its purpose built new site at Regatta Way in 2007, and this is now our spiritual home.  The club has invested in a new stand at Regatta Way and at the official opening in December 2015, it was named the Tom Maccabee stand, in honour of a former Colts player who was tragically killed in Malaysia the previous year.

Our founding principle, which remains true to this day, is to provide football for as many local children as possible. This is why the club has grown so big and so popular; and this is why our mens and ladies teams still have many a player who has come up through the age groups with the club.

We have many a team that has won League titles and cups, but just as important to us are the numerous sportsmanship awards the club has collected, and we are fully behind the FA’s Respect campaign. We aim to win with style and lose with dignity. The slogan for our ‘mini-colts’ section (which serves the youngest players in the club) is ‘enjoyment development respect’ – and we do not lose sight of those words as players get older.

West Bridgford Colts is proud to have been awarded Community Club status by the Football Association. This is the highest award under the FA’s Charter Standard program.
